Project Monet - Omni Marco Polo Hotel Redevelopment
Originally known as Hotel Malaysia when it was constructed in 1968, the hotel is a 10-storey building with 300 rooms designed by the Alfred Wong Partnership.
The hotel, renamed The Omni Marco Polo Hotel in 1989 yet commonly known as the Marco Polo Hotel, is considered one of Singapore's historic architectural landmarks.
The project consists of a proposed redevelopment of the site.
Affected by competition as well as the economic recession of the late 1990s, the hotel is forced to close and the building is demolished in 1999.
A 164-unit luxury condominium development consisting of three towers called the Grange Residences is constructed on the site and completed in 2004.
