Project Monet - Omni Marco Polo Hotel Redevelopment

  • Originally known as Hotel Malaysia when it was constructed in 1968, the hotel is a 10-storey building with 300 rooms designed by the Alfred Wong Partnership.

  • The hotel, renamed The Omni Marco Polo Hotel in 1989 yet commonly known as the Marco Polo Hotel, is considered one of Singapore's historic architectural landmarks.

  • The project consists of a proposed redevelopment of the site.

  • Affected by competition as well as the economic recession of the late 1990s, the hotel is forced to close and the building is demolished in 1999.

  • A 164-unit luxury condominium development consisting of three towers called the Grange Residences is constructed on the site and completed in 2004.
