Wisma Dharmala Surabaya

  • The design consists of 12 stories above ground with 2 basements

  • Construction begins in April 1996

  • The building is enclosed on April 16, 1997. The event is marked by a roof closing ceremony conducted by the President Commissioner of PT Dharmala Intiland, Suhargo Gondokusumo.

  • Construction completes in August 1997

The X shape of this building makes the base of the building shrink upwards. This structure is made of tilted columns or inclined columns, reinforced by the cantilever (walls that jut out). These two elements, x-tight and inclined columns, serve to reduce sunlight entering the building. Just like the shape of the roofs of Indonesian houses that stick out, to keep out the sunlight so that too much does not enter the house. This roof shape is also useful for holding rainwater, so that it falls away from the building.
