Stinnett Residence

  • This modular wood-frame house hovers over the ground through the support of a series of columns which are anchored to the ground.

  • It had a series of adjustable planes that served as overhangs, light shelves and even as protection screens against hurricanes. The house could be turned from a private shaded-compartment into an open-air pavilion.

  • An air-conditioning unit was added to the building later on, which modified the original plan; the panels and pivot hardware had to be removed.

  • Owned by Diane J. Stinnett as of 2013
