THE HYPOCRISY IS MONUMENTAL! Goshen celebrates the 4th of July by declaring today and tomorrow as the "GREAT AMERICAN WEEKEND."
This is the community that has TRASHED THE WORK OF A GREAT AMERICAN ARCHITECT. This is the community that would allow the County to destroy a perfectly sound type 1 structure of national and international importance to satisfy the egos of government mobsters like Harry Porr and the rest of Neuhaus's criminal cabal.
And, while the Office of Court Administration, which is very close to CPL and the County operatives influences Supreme Court Judges so they will not be embarrassed by their ignorant position on the matter of the Orange County Government Center [or possibly their criminal collusion with CPL and the County], Langdon Chapman and his shadow think nothing of committing perjury in front of the Brooklyn Appellate Court.
This community would rather pay the added property tax that would have been paid by the OCGC being on the tax rolls than recognize the best example of Paul Rudolph's work. Some people in Goshen who would see this building destroyed for partisan political reasons, think of themselves as enlightened or artistically savvy, but the truth is that they are frightened sheep who are not very enlightened and know nothing about art.
They are willing to throw away the establishment of a newly introduced economic engine [a phrase we hear often from the lips of our right wing republican operatives when it profits them], added foot traffic in the Village, people who would purchase supplies for their artistic endeavors locally and people who's economic activities would also generate sales tax revenue for the County, the town and the Village
They may even be somewhat anti-semitic, since one of the reasons floating around Goshen for not saving the OCGC seems to be that if the Kaufman Plan failed then the building would be made into housing for Hassidic families.
I cannot imagine anything as absurd as that, but maybe Goshen is just a back-water, red-neck, isolationist town, following the partisan lead of Neuhaus and the gang of thieves that follow him. There are some smart and enlightened people in Goshen, even on the other side of the party spectrum, but their voices are unheard.
Perhaps it is an issue of those who blindly wield power and who like to exert control over the rest of us instead of serving the public as they swore to do.
